Ladies, I’ve got some great news for you – the women’s pinball scene has officially landed in Colorado. In addition to the Belles & Chimes Denver League that Gretchen Garcia runs at 1Up Colfax, Laura McCarthy and Cindy Grote have stepped up to host women’s tournaments at Blizzard Mountain (tonight at 6p) and Lyons Classic Pinball (December 4th at 3p) – both of which will be awarding women’s WPPRs!
Tonight’s tournament starts at 6pm at Blizzard Mountain Pinball in Conifer. There’s a $5 entry fee (plus cost of games played) with all the entry fees going into a pot to be awarded to the top players. The number and amount of prizes will be determined by the overall number of entrants.
Format: Flipper Frenzy for 2 hours, followed by knockout finals with 4-player groups, 3-games per round (7-5-3-1 scoring). Number of people advancing to finals will be dependent on the overall number of entrants.
Colorado is lucky to have such a solid trio spearheading these tournaments and leagues. They aim to remove any barrier of entry women may have about participating in pinball while fostering community and skillful competition. These events are open to all abilities and your participation will improve your game. Fact. So come out and play!
